Working with Melissa and Ryan was about as fun as it gets! Melissa has a super fun, up beat personality so we got along swimmingly from day one! There were two things Melissa was beyond excited about…..her wedding dress (which had her favorite flower embroidered right into the fabric as a white on white pattern) and the color purple which she rocked with purple shoes, sunglasses and decor!
Melissa and Ryan got married on June 19, 2010 at Kenilworth Union Church. They couldn’t have asked for a better day. It had been raining a lot in the Chicagoland area the weeks leading up to their big day. Needless to say we were thrilled that the sun was shinning on them all day.

They were both a lot of fun and seemed extremely relaxed which helped them to really enjoy their wedding day! Melissa wore a pair of absolutely fabulous purple peep-toe pumps that fit her overall style and personality!

A Stem Above went above and beyond capturing their style with the floral and decor. Their reception was held at The Evanston Golf Club; the food, service and environment were exceptional.

This spectacular place card table was the first thing guests saw as they entered the reception. A Stem Above did a great job creating such a bold focal point.

Windy City Cakes custom created this wedding cake for Melissa. The pattern reflected the print of Melissa’s dress which is also her favorite flower. Not only did it look great but the flavors were excellent as well. I don’t think there was any leftover!

The dance floor was packed all night long thanks to DJ Ryan from Style Matters. Melissa, Ryan and all their friends and family barely left the dance floor which really made for a great party with lots of energy.
I really enjoyed working with Melissa and Ryan as well as getting to know their fantastic families along the way. Clementine wishes them all the best!

The fantastic Flower Firm has an amazing signature Lucite table that can be used in many different ways. I’ve seen it used as a buffet table, a bar or a place card table. This fabulous table is different for every event. The Flower Firm will fill the inside of the table with different decor elements that match your theme and style. It is such an impressive piece and it creates a distinct focal point in any room.

My client’s chose to use it for their place card table. It was the first thing guests saw when walking into the reception area at The Four Seasons. Later in the evening we used the same table to display the party favors, little bags of Garrett’s popcorn. The table looked beautiful all night long.

Caroline and Edward really celebrated their wedding in style. Every detail was perfectly matched, charming and casual/chic. The whole event was extremely romantic and well thought out.
The picturesque beach setting is from non other than The 63rd Street Beach House. This post might get me in trouble because I once blogged about how difficult this venue can be if your not prepared for the Chicago weather; however Carrie and Ed’s day was beyond perfect.
All pictures are courtesy of the very talented Laurie Peacock!

They held their ceremony under the main pavilion of the beach house which over looks Lake Michigan. The view is so beautiful that the couple didn’t need to add a lot of ceremony decor. The bride’s dress was a perfect choice for their outdoor, beach wedding.

The architecture of the beach house is really intricate and is a great back drop for weddings. Their simple and elegant “alter” arrangements are the perfect size and style for the space.

After the ceremony, the guests had cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the south wing of the beach house. Since the weather was so nice and breezy the guests enjoyed the open air of the event space.

While they were cocktailing the staff broke down the ceremony and created this beautiful floor plan for their seated dinner. You can’t tell from this picture but the dance floor was located lake side at the top of the pavilion.

Some of the details I was mentioning earlier: Look at these fantastic menu cards, place cards and table numbers!

All in all it was a perfect day and Clementine wishes the happy couple all the best as their 1 year anniversary is approaching.

Hotel Sax was the home of this fantastic wedding ceremony. I love the placement of the flowers and the really bright colors. The room is decorated in neautral colors so the pop of color really stood out nicely. The flowers created an excellent focal point in the room. This wedding was in April, a season bursting with life. It was the perfect month to really showcase vibrant colors as guests were so ready for spring after all the bleak months prior.

The best part of the decor was the ceremony arrangements were then reused as the centerpieces for the dinner tables. Reusing arrangements is a great way to really jazz up a ceremony site for very little extra money. Not only is this cost effective but it’s “green” too. At the end of the day the client had less waste after the event.

I strongly suggest using arrangements more than once if possible. I have a lot of clients that reuse their alter arrangements for the place card table or gift table. It’s a great way to extend the budget, plus it would be a shame to have such gorgeous floral/decor only to be used for 30 min!
Daniel Gin Photography took these fantastic pictures. Stay tuned to the Clementine website, this wedding will be featured soon on our gallery page.
The floral was designed by Tony Polega with Bukiety Floral in Chicago.

I just love these flowers so much I had to feature them!!
Kristin and Jeff got married on May 22nd at The University Club. Their wedding was fabulous from start to finish (for more pictures check out their gallery on the Clementine Custom Events website). A Stem Above really outdid themselves with these rich and colorful bouquets and centerpieces. So many guests commented on the stunning flowers. I was asked many times “who provided the flowers?” It was my pleasure to tell them it was A Stem Above.

The bridesmaid’s bouquets were just as gorgeous at the brides bouquet. I loved how lush and colorful they were and they matched their dresses prefectly. The bride’s bouquet had such unique features, it really stood out from the rest of the floral yet it was cohesive at the same time. Every detail was perfect and nothing was over the top, it was all the right size, color, shape and texture.

Congratulations Christina and Ken!

This romantic couple had such a special and beautiful wedding day. They exchanged their vows standing beside their closest friends and family at St. James Chapel. The bride’s dress was absolutely stunning with layers and lace.

They were escorted to and from the ceremony and reception in a stylish Rolls Royce provided by Classic Chassis. The perfect touch for such an elegant wedding.

The Ivy Room was decked out in Navy, Lavender and Ivory. Lauren Petersen at Kehoe Designs created a warm envivorment using lush lounge vignettes, cocktail tables and tall Delano tables with bar stools; it looked spectacular. The guests really enjoyed the modern style and cocktail seating; it was very sleek and sophisticated. Christina and Ken chose to serve delicious action stations for dinner created by Emily Vandevender and Jewell Events Catering. The menu really fit the overall style of the event perfectly.

Le Sucre made this fabulous wedding cake. It is constructed by little individual cakes, enough for each guest to have their own. Christina and Ken even provided little to go cake boxes so guests could take their cakes home if desired. They were absolutely adorable and perfectly ideal for the grand finale after the amazing dinner.

Pops for Champagne has been a second home to the newly weds for years. They have seen Ava Logan perform live at Pops many times and asked her to sing at their wedding. Her voice, style and grace was such a lovely touch to the elegant atmosphere. Ava and her band fit into the overall look and feel of the wedding perfectly. Christina and Ken had been together for many years before tying the knot so they appropriately chose “At Last” by Etta James as their first dance.

They danced the night away and even served late night White Castle sliders – a huge hit! When the reception came to an end they of course went for drinks at Pops with an intimate group of friends. The perfect end to a truly wonderful wedding ceremony and celebration.

Clementine Custom Events was honored to be a part of such a special wedding and we had a wonderful time partnering with such fantastic vendors. We wish the newly weds all the best!

If you haven’t heard of Paperless Post you must check out their website. It’s a perfect way to send invitations and save the dates in an affordable, modern and eco-friendly way.

You can create & design any type of invitation you want. It is perfect for wedding showers, bachelorette parties, save the dates and even wedding invitations. Paperless Post is much more polished and professional than sending an informal Evite.
Paperless Post makes sending invitations very easy too. Once you design your mailing you create an account and buy “stamps” and “coins” for a very low price…..approximately $20.00 for 250.
The best part is that you can track each invitation to see who has opened their and guests can directly RSVP to send a note to the host.
I strongly recommend trying them out for any upcoming party you might be hosting!

If you are looking for a fashionable wedding dress consider The Limited. They have recently announced that they are now carrying a wedding line including wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, jewelry and hair accessories. The best part: They are REALLY affordable. I love how the dresses are trendy yet classic.
These two stylish wedding dresses are under $300.00.

These adorable bridesmaid dresses are something your bridesmaids can actually afford AND wear again. They come in multiple colors are are priced well under $100.00. That is something for your bridesmaids to smile about! Now they can afford shoes and accessories too.

Stay stylish and save some money for other wedding attire details like hair accessories, shoes and jewelry.
